Hi RINGers,
We're having a great summer at RING, but we have an urgent need for volunteers right now to weed OUTSIDE the garden where the cobblestones are. Parks will start spraying the herbicide Roundup if we don't pull the weeds. If everyone pulls a few, the job will be done. Can you please help? We've taken care of the tree pits, so just focus on the cobblestones. THANKS!
They've also asked that we trim the rose bushes that cross the fence line. We probably need to trim the ivy as well. If we don't do it, they will send untrained people out with weed whackers and it won't look pretty.
The garden itself can also use some weeding thanks to this amazing rainfall this summer.
Maggie will teach weeds and weeding this Saturday starting at 12:30 pm. Please do come. Weeding isn't hard since most of RING's weeds are just a few species and you only need to learn one at a time.

Update on the 30th anniversary. Hold the date: Sat. Sept. 27.
We held our first planning meeting on July 3. We agreed there should be food, music, honorees, a historical photographic display and publicity.(details to be defined at later meetings), We will be meeting again in late July, late August and in September. This is not a small undertaking and we need more volunteers. If you'd like to help with any of the above, please contact Maggie and we will advise you of meetings.

Remember to join and post to our Facebook Group, RING Garden, and come out to the garden. A garden coordinator will be out there most Saturdays to guide and instruct. This Saturday, Maggie will be out there after 1pm. Now that we are into summertime, these are the important tasks:
- Watering (if it hasn't rained lately / ground is dry)
- Weeding (if it has been raining) - easy to learn one or two weeds
- Sifting compost (mixing it too) and spreading the beautiful compost on our soil
- Mowing (the lawn needs it once a week)
