Taskforce Maxima: Allegedly stolen earth moving equipment located

IMG_0005In continued enforcement action against criminal gangs, detectives from Taskforce Maxima executed a search warrant at Alexandra Hills address targeting the Lone Wolf Criminal Motorcycle Gang (CMG).

The early morning raid, conducted today, resulted in police seizing an allegedly stolen earth moving equipment, valued around $56,000.

Police will allege the vehicle was stolen from a Boyne Island Plumbing Business in July.

It will also be alleged that they located CMG membership paraphernalia, including clothing, vests and patches, as well as a small quantity of cannabis and a bladed knuckleduster.

A 38-year-old Alexandra Hills man, who is alleged to be a patched member of the Lone Wolf criminal gang, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a motor vehicle, possession of a dangerous drug and possession of a restricted weapon.

Detective Inspector Brendan Smith of Task Force Maxima said that this was a clear example of the variety of crimes CMG members commit.

“They are opportunistic, taking advantage of any situation to further their criminal activities, often at the expense of everyday Queenslanders,” Detective Inspector Smith said.

“This type of crime not only impacts on the machinery’s owner business and its customers, but it also affects all Queenslanders through increasing insurance premiums. This is one of the reasons we will continue to target criminal gangs.

“It is important we do all we can to change their offending behaviour to protect Queenslanders,” he said.
