Kerry James Marshall keynotes
The Collective's annual luncheon October 8

Internationally-renowned artist Kerry James Marshall will keynote the Community Artists' Collective's annual luncheon at the Royal Sonesta Hotel, 2222 West Loop South, Thursday, October 8, at 11 a.m.

Beverly Harmon, Alton LaDay and Joy Sewing will serve as co-chairs of the event.
Carolyn Farb will receive the inaugural Lester Marks Patron of the Year Award for a lifetime of contribution to Houston's artists community.  Read more


"Figuratively Speaking"

"Figuratively Speaking," a group exhibition representing  the human figure, opened September 9 at The  Collective and will run through Saturday, October 31.

Participating artists are Melissa Aytenfisu, Dominic Clay, Ricardo Osmondo Francis, John Foreman, Leonard Freeman, Aesha Lee, Kirk McMillan, Elizabeth Montgomery Shelton, Jasmine Rose, Ron Smith and Brandi Wright.

The Collective is open Thursday through Saturday and by appointment.  Hours are from 12 noon until 8 p.m. on Thursdays and from 12 noon until 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Join the Jubilee Quilt Circle

Workshops and demonstrations  are offered at The Collective, 4101 San Jacinto, Suite 116, on Thursdays from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Fridays from 1 to 4 p.m.

The Community Artists' Collective invites you to learn about and to work on textiles, including quilting, knitting, crochet and embroidering.

Supplies provided. Suggested donation is $30 per month.
