Debra Prinzing will be teaching a workshop 1-3 p.m., October 4, 2014, as part of this exhibit.
Students will take inspiration from the pieces featured in Inflorescence and use works of art as the starting point for their creative floral arrangements. This hands-on workshop will cover the basics of floral arranging, principles and elements of design, color theory and eco-friendly techniques.
Participants will select a specific work of art that informs their floral palette, structure & scale, proportion & form. A wide array of locally grown botanical elements — flowers, buds, berries, branches, grasses, twigs and vines — will be at your fingertips to work with.
Workshop Fee: $50 per student. Note: cancellations can not be refunded.
Workshop minimum: 6 students
Workshop maximum: 20 students
Workshop will be followed by a book-signing. Instructor’s requirements: $50 per student design fee to cover materials; each student to bring his/her own vase, cutting tools and gloves.
