WEST CHESTER >> A 22-year-old man remains hospitalized with stab wounds after a verbal argument early Sunday turned violent, police said.

Police said the unidentified man suffered stab wounds to the upper right side of his chest and torso following an altercation in the area of Market and Walnut streets at about 2:40 a.m. Sunday. Police said the man became involved in an argument with three unknown men and then the altercation turned violent. One of the three men stabbed the victim before all three men fled the scene.

The victim fell to the ground after the stabbing, police said, and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
