Message to motorists, Brisbane

Police are appealing to motorist in and around Brisbane to delay all non-essential travel to allow police and emergency services to attend to the widespread damage following the severe thunderstorms this afternoon.

Traffic congestion is hampering emergency services ability to get to locations impacted by the storms and if motorist could delay travel it would greatly assist.

Police would also like to remind motorists to drive to conditions and to be aware that there maybe fallen powerlines, trees and other debris across roadways.

Remember if it’s flooded forget it.
