Portion of Durham Road Closed Following Afternoon Accident
Durham Road/NC 98 from Tyler Run Drive to South Wingate Street is closed following an afternoon accident.
Just after noon a pickup truck traveling in the westbound lane of Durham
Road veered off the road before striking and breaking a utility pole. There is no word on the condition of the driver.
Wake Forest Power crews are on the scene repairing the light pole, but the work is not expected to be completed for several hours.
Wake Forest Police are directing traffic around the area. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and choose an alternate route.

Park in the Direction of Traffic Flow
The Wake Forest Code of Ordinances mandates that parking on all streets within the corporate limits of Wake Forest "must be established in the direction of traffic flow." Therefore, motorists may not park along town streets with their "left side to the curb." Any vehicle parked along a town street facing the opposite direction from the flow of traffic is subject to a $25 fine.
