Entries are flowing in now, good luck to all who've entered so far, and remember to share the group, as we want this to be a fabulous exhibition for all of Australia. No subject matter for writers, simply 1000 words of a story of significance.
Emails have been coming in thick and fast. Here are some of the FAQ's:
Q. Does the word limit need to be exactly 1000 words or can it be a little under or over?
A. Yes exactly 1000 words - can a photograph really tell 1000 words? That is what we endeavour to explore.
Q. Does the title need to be included in the 1000 word limit?
A. No that can be separate.
Q. Is it $30 each entry or can we use that for more than one entry?
A. Yes it is $30 each entry (16+ Years), so if you have two wonderful stories, you will need to either choose which is your best one, or pay the entry fee twice. All youth (up to 15 years) entries are $15 each. Our fees are consistent or cheaper than many other competitions of similar prize money, however we will cover the costs of all exhibition materials and displays which is great value for the finalists who receive full credits of their work everywhere they are exhibited.
Q. What will the funds be used for?
A. Advertising the competition and exhibition, exhibition venues, the large sum of prize money offered in cash ($2,500.00), opening night and printing and delivery costs for the finalist's entries for exhibition.
Q. When are the closing dates?
A. Writers, 31 March 2015 Photographers 31 October 2015
Q. Can the written works really be about anything?
A. Yes any subject matter you choose. This may include real life stories, anecdotal, fictional, children's, autobiographical, a mix of all of the above; absolutely anything you choose.
Get entering and sharing now! Tell your work mates, school friends, teachers, adult education lecturers, this will be something worth sharing and being a part of.
