John Carroll placed three golfers among the top 30 individual placers to earn a fifth place showing at The Nye Intercollegiate, which wrapped up its second and final day of competition Saturday at Wooster Country Club in Wooster, Ohio.
Results
Denison (625) edged Allegheny (626) and Mt. St. Joseph College (628) for the team title. Mount Union placed fourth at 652, while host Wooster and John Carroll tied for fifth in the 12-team field with a score of 657.
Casey Vancil was the top finisher for John Carroll, carding a 158 (77-81) to finish in sole possession of ninth place.
Also earning top 30 finishes were Alex DiPalma (163) who tied for 19th, and Nick Boccio (165), who placed in a tie for 26th.
This was John Carroll's final regular season competition before the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament -- which serves as the league's NCAA qualifier -- which will be held April 25-27 at River Greens Golf Course in West Lafayette, Ohio.
