UPDATE:
As of now the Florida Retail Federation have dropped the lawsuit, but only because the because the legislators have agreed to review the tourist exemption, which is what the FRF wanted in the first place. SO WE NEED YOU NOW MORE THAN EVER! This petition and everyones comments will be shared with the committee that will be responsible for deciding if FL breweries are a boon to tourism. SO LETS SHOW THEM!!!!

Craft breweries in Florida are under attack. The Florida Retail Federation is suing the Department of Business and Professional Regulation and is being joined by Florida Beer Wholesalers as well as Florida Independent Spirits Association. FISA includes ABC Fine Wine & Spirits chain, as well as several other Florida retail liquor stores. 

These retailers and distributors are asking the state to stop issuing new licenses to breweries allowing on-site sales. And no one in the Florida Craft Beer industry thinks that they are going to stop there. If they succeed, the tasting room licenses of every craft beer brewery will be in jeopardy.

The effects of this lawsuit will decimate the bourgeoning craft beer industry in Florida. Established breweries will likely move, or at least expand in other states. New breweries that have yet to obtain large scale distribution will go out of business and breweries in planning will likely be killed before they ever get off the ground.

Please sign this petition if you have ever traveled to or within Florida for the purpose of visiting our breweries. As the lawsuit moves forward, we will be sharing this information with the Department of Business and Professional Regulation so that they KNOW that our industry is a boon to FL tourism!
