Jamaica passes sixth quarterly IMF review

KINGSTON, Jamaica:

Jamaica has passed its sixth quarterly review under its Extended Fund Facility with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).




Minister of Finance Dr Peter Phillips made the announcement a short while ago while addressing a group of business persons and sector leaders at a luncheon in honor of President of the Inter American Development Bank, Luis Alberto Moreno.



Dr Phillips says with the stamp of approval from the Board of the IMF, the country will now be able to draw down an additional US$68 million from the fund.



The Finance Minister also says now that Jamaica has achieved regular success at the quarterly tests, efforts will now be attuned to growth and development.
