FRISCO, Texas - For the third consecutive season, every game of the Southland Conference Baseball Tournament will be carried live on ESPN3. The 2017 event runs May 24-27 at Constellation Field in Sugar Land, Texas, home of the Atlantic League's Sugar Land Skeeters.

The baseball championship will complete the network's Southland broadcast schedule for 2016-17. During this academic year, ESPN3 has also delivered an exclusive selection of Southland football and basketball games, plus the title games for volleyball, soccer and softball.

The Southland Conference Baseball Tournament is set up in similar fashion to the NCAA College World Series in that there are two four-team double-elimination brackets with the winners meeting for the championship. But unlike in Omaha, the bracket winners meet in a single game to decide the championship. The victor of the Southland tournament is the league's automatic qualifier for the NCAA tournament.

Southland assistant commissioner Chris Mycoskie will handle play-by-play duties, while several Southland teams' radio announcers will also showcased in the ESPN3 booth during the early rounds. For the title game, Mycoskie will be matched with color analyst Greg Swindell, a former first-team All-American at the University of Texas and 17 year Major League veteran. The left-handed pitcher was named to 1989 American League All-Star team as part of the Cleveland Indians, and was part of the Arizona Diamondbacks 2001 World Series championship squad.

ESPN3 is ESPN's live multi-screen sports network, a destination that delivers thousands of exclusive sports events annually. It is accessible on computers, smartphones, tablets and streaming devices through WatchESPN and the ESPN app.

The network is currently available nationwide at no additional cost who receive their high-speed Internet connection or video subscription from an affiliated service provider. It is also available at no cost to U.S. college students and U.S.-based military personnel via computers, smartphones and tablets connected to on-campus educational and on-base military broadband and Wi-Fi networks.
