TPD to conduct random DUI patrols Friday, Saturday

TULSA -- The Tulsa Police Departments Riverside Division will be conducting random DUI patrols this weekend.

The roving patrols in the area south of East 11th Street and west of South Sheridan Road will be in relation to St. Patrick's Day and the NCAA Tournament at the BOK Center.

The patrols are intended to raise awareness of the dangers of drinking and driving.

The first DUI conviction carries imprisonment in the city jail of not less than 10 days nor more than 6 months, a fine of not more than $1,000 as well as any combination of fine, community service or treatment, police said.
