Adult Cow Stolen In Recent Joliet Burglary

The Will County Sheriff's Department said that crimes involving stolen livestock are extremely rare.

JOLIET, IL - The Will County Sheriff's Department has investigated dozens of stolen automobiles, numerous stolen vehicles and plenty of shoplifting crimes during the past nine months. But last week marked a rarity, somebody managed to steal a cow from a property along Maple Road, which is also Route 6. The incident was reported to Will County last Tuesday, September 12.

According to the sheriff's office, the thief or thieves damaged to sections of fence at a property in the 2100 block of Maple Road, an area that's just up the road from the Ss. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery. The intruders damaged the fence in order to gain access to the property owner's livestock. According to sheriff's officials, the thieves made off with one adult Jersey breed cow.

And there you have it. So if you pull up to a stoplight in the coming days at any given Joliet intersection and the vehicle next to you has one large Jersey cow in their backseat, there's a high probability that you're looking at the culprit.
