CALDWELL, N.J. – The Caldwell University volleyball team swept Holy Family University, 25-15, 25-15, 25-20 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match Saturday afternoon in the George R. Newman Center. The victory extends the winning streak to six matches for the Cougars, who improve to 15-7 overall and 10-2 in the conference. The Tigers fall to 10-12, 8-3 CACC.
Caldwell dominated the first two sets, recording 14 kills and identical .334 hitting percentages in each of the sets. Freshman outside hitter
Taryn Auyong (Honolulu, HI/Kamehameha) had eight kills and senior right side
Erica Harrell (Richardson, TX/Plano East) recorded seven kills while hitting .700 to help the Cougars take a 2-0 lead. In the third set, Holy Family kept things close and led 13-12 at one point. But Caldwell received five kills from senior
Athena Nestoras (Los Angeles, CA/St. Monica) in the third set to put the match away with a 25-20 win.
Auyong and Harrell each had nine kills to pace the Cougars, with Harrell hitting .571 for the match. Nestoras finished with seven kills, 14 assists and 10 digs, and freshman middle blocker
Narae Wadsworth (Reno, NV/Wooster) added seven kills and two total blocks. Freshman setter
Gabrielle Bennett (San Antonio, TX/Johnson) also had 14 assists, while  libero
Jaclyn Del Cid (Bogota, NJ/Bogota) and sophomore outside hitter
Rachael DiLeonardo (Cincinnati, OH/Mount Notre Dame) led the defense with 19 and 16 digs, respectively. Emma Herring tallied 11 kills to lead Holy Family.
Caldwell plays a key CACC North Division match at Post University on Wednesday, Oct. 22. The first serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Waterbury, Conn.
