WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State placed 78 student-athletes on the Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for the spring semester of the 2014-15 academic year released Wednesday afternoon.
 
The program boasted 22 student-athletes with flawless 4.00 GPA for the spring semester up from 14 from the fall.
 
The women's tennis and women's basketball programs led the way placing a combined 20 on the honor role as eight of the 10 active student-athletes on the tennis roster qualified for the honor while 12 of 19 on the basketball roster earned the accolade.
 
Both teams advanced to the NCAA Division II postseason as tennis reached the national quarterfinals for the first time in program history, while the women's basketball team advanced to the NCAA II South Central Regionals for the third straight season.
 
Thirteen football players appeared on the honor roll, while cross country/track had 11.
 
Each of the 13 programs had at least one student-athlete on the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
 
The LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll is announced at the conclusion of the fall and spring semesters with student-athletes qualifying based on grade-point average for the current semester.
 
To be eligible for the Commissioner's Honor Roll, student-athletes must have a minimum 330 GPA for the current semester and be on an active roster.
