Police are investigating a robbery that occurred at a Joan Street business late last night.
Two men in masks entered the complex at around 10pm and demanded the 65-year-old business owner open an office safe.
The offenders assaulted the victim before fleeing with a sum of money.
The 65-year-old man sustained facial lacerations and bruising and was transported to the Cairns Hospital for further treatment.
Investigations are continuing.
