Another remarkable fun read from Regina Duke.

The characters in this book hit a range from sweet and needy to hard and edgy.

I am so glad this book is #1 in a collection. I intend to read all 5 books for sure.

The plot is great fun, a very wealthy and determined hero meets a spunky, poor girl who has been pushed down most of her life by her zealous father. She needs our hero to rescue her in so many ways.

The villainous father of the hero, and his mother who has given up the love of her life to comply with what was expected of her from her own father provides a very interesting side story. The most interesting character to me, aside from the principles was the kind, gentle ranch foreman who has loved the lady of the house his whole adult life. This love affair has lasted almost forever, and ends happily, so I rejoiced with these two characters.

They provided the full gamut of human emotions, and it is as always for me a pleasure to have the main characters who have morals, dignity, and most of all who are honest and trustworthy.

I gave this sweet book 5 stars, and Cookie, the Incredible Wonder Dog, and my read in bed buddy give it 4 paws. She would have given more paws, but she only has 4, and thinks that I should do less reading in bed, and more fixing her food anyway. I do discuss most books I read with her, and she is a very good critic Imo. Of course she is also one of my soul mates, and we just click together.

Thanks again Regina Duke, you rule!!!!

First of, I must say to the writer. the character writing of his sister is awesome. I don't like the dark side stuff but how this was written in was just to funny. Loved the reaction of Megan at the airport. I am not sure why Kevin didn't really get into the background of his family like his friend told him to. lol I love that and smooth and creamy too.

Now as for the Characters, Kevin has left his past of being rich behind, so that he can make it on his own. With a half crazy, domineering father he just want to really get away from it. Like most of us learn, if you love family sometimes you have to go back to keep them safe.

Love they way it was written in for him to meet Megan, who has just been releases from the hospital with not much more the fifty dollars to her name. Because of a car accident with a long hospital say, she is now without finances, shelter or job. she find herself in a tough predicament with the hospital threatening to do what they have to, for her to pay her medical bills, all seemed hopeless.

The wager; brings these two people together out of necessity, kevin hires her to be his bride, she agrees so that her medical bills will be paid, and he will receive his inheritance , but love keeps them together for a Journey. Dysfunctional family Meets missionaries daughter, Ranch foreman and all... Elvia would feel right at home here.lol Great reading when I can laugh ,and try to figure out who the spy was.

I gravitate toward a historical setting because it's so hard to find something contemporary that I really enjoy. However, this one hit the spot! It was wholesome (see next paragraph), quirky, spunky, funny, romantic, and, by turns,

How child friendly is this book? The underlying messages were very positive, and the main characters seemed like very positive role models. I don't recall anybody drinking beyond moderation. At one point, someone is called a SOB. That is the only language I can recall reading. There are no sex scenes. It is mentioned that a pair of newlyweds rise (separately) from their bed naked. Violence--a man breaks another man's nose (creating a bloody scene) in defense of his daughter's honor. ***SPOILER ALERT*** The heroine had taken classes r/t her major that had a direct bearing on how she interacted with the hero's young siblings, whose character development I found very believable. It helped me see the practical value of the major she had chosen.

There were characters in the book for whom I wanted to see a better (or better-developed) outcome. I think other than that, though, this book answered my every wish. With a title that included the word "billionaire" I thought I would find this book hard to relate to. However, these people weren't the kind who've lost touch with the economic challenges of ordinary people. I hope to read more in this series!

THE WEDDING WAGER was a very cute and sweet story of romance born of desperate measures. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and the ending left me completely satisfied even though there were no steamy love scenes!

Definitely a cute must read if you are okay with not having those steamy scenes. This is a story of young love and discovery, in a well written little book.

The premise for this book is very simple: find bride marry her before birthday claim inheritance, but the route this takes is far from conventional. The main male character is living a very ordinary non Billionaire life when he gets the call from his mother about what will happen if he is not married by his 25th birthday, so he starts pulling out all the stops to find a bride. The female character is newly destitute thanks to a car accident and answers an ad that turns out to be for a bride. From her on out the story will have you alternatively laughing and angry at the various characters that either try to help or hinder things. The male character's 2 younger siblings generate many LOL moments and it is great to see how the female character gently handles things with them. Things are not always as they seem and its only as you get further into the story that the full picture becomes clear.

Overall this is a very sweet, stop at the bedroom door, romance that had me turning the pages to see if the bad guy got his comeuppance. This is the first book by this author I have read and its a refreshing read. I will look forward to reading the rest of the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars A winning "wager"!!

I enjoyed this well written book.
Kevin and Megan, each in a "particular" situation, find that together they can solve their problems. I particullarly like the way Megan used her witt and intelligence to win over Kevin's quite "unusual" sister and brother. In all she proved herself to be a loving and caring person that Kevin could only have wished for in his "rapid" search for a bride!
Just enough sweetness and romance to mix in with the plot.
An easy summer read!!
