SUNY Oneonta seniors
Charles Remillard (Peru/Peru),
Patrick Weinert (Schenevus/Schenevus) and
Sean Mullen (East Nassau/Averill Park) each won a SUNYAC title today to lead the men's track & field team to a second place finish at the conference championships hosted by Brockport. The hosts took the overall team championship with 204.5 points while the Red Dragons accumulated 157.5 points. Oneonta came back with 13 individual medalists including Remillard, Weinert and Mullen who each medaled in two events.

Remillard won his SUNYAC title last night in the 10,000 meters. Today, he came back and finished third in the 5,000 meters. He recorded times of 31:35.55 and 15:14.74 respectively.

Weinert successfully defended his title in the hammer throw, recording a distance of 55.99m (183'8"). His second medal came today with his third place finish in the shot put. He also scored points in the Javelin with a seventh place finish.

Mullen was the SUNYAC champion in the triple jump while finishing third in the long jump. Mullen recorded a distance of 14.48m (47'6 ¼") in the triple jump, which was nearly two feet better than the runner up in the event. In the long jump, he went 6.68m (21'11").

Sophomore
Anthony Lupia (Cicero/Cicero-North Syracuse) gave the Red Dragons a 1-2 finish in the 10,000. Lupia ran a time of 31:42.79, which was a personal best mark in the event.

Other double-medalists for Oneonta were seniors
J.D. Roth (Pearl River/Nanuet) and
Rob Farrell (Carmel/Mahopac) and junior
Joe Carr (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake). Roth was second in both the hammer and shot put. Farrell was second in both the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdles. Carr finished second in the 100 and 200-meter dashes. Farrell ran a personal best time of 53.26 in the 400 hurdles while Carr recorded a personal best time of 21.37 in the 200.

The men will compete next Saturday at home in the annual Oneonta May Meet beginning at 1:00pm with field events. Track events will commence at 2:30pm.
