Philadelphia, Pa. - (8/28/2014) – With the start of the 2014 season just around the corner, the Chestnut Hill College women's volleyball team adds to the excitement with the announcement of its promotional schedule for the upcoming year. Like last year, the Griffins will host matches highlighted by themed events featuring plenty of prizes, support for worthy causes, and top-notch Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action.
Tuesday, September 16 vs. Goldey-Beacom College: Youth Volleyball NightLocal elementary school players are invited to meet the Griffins after the game. Each will receive a copy of the team photo, and a serving contest will take place between the second and third sets.
Wednesday, September 24 vs. Philadelphia University: Get Real With Teal NightTo raise awareness of ovarian cancer, the team encourages fans to wear teal in support.
Wednesday, October 8 vs. Holy Family University: Side-out Foundation Dig Pink The Griffins ask all those in attendance to wear pink to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. The evening will feature a 50/50 raffle and a prize for the fan wearing the most pink, as well as a serving competition following the match, t-shirt sales, and sponsors for digs. All proceeds benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Wednesday, October 22 vs. University of the Sciences: Griffin Nation NightThe women's volleyball team aims to add to the College's school pride with prizes given to the two most spirited fans in attendance. Come dressed in your best red and gold! There will also be a serving competition for a chance to win prizes following the match.
Tuesday, October 28 vs. Wilmington University: Super Hero NightFans are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite super hero. Prizes will be awarded to the two best costumes.
The Griffins open the 2014 season on Friday, September 5 at Millersville University's Marauder Clash. They will face West Chester University in their home opener on Tuesday, September 9.
