LightNight 2016: Experiment

LightNight, Liverpool's late night arts festival, returns on 13 May 2016.

The festival presents visitors with a snapshot of the city's impressive cultural offer and saw more than 65,000 visits in 2015 so donâ€™t miss the chance to be part of it and raise your profile.

Submit an event

We're inviting artists and arts, culture and heritage organisations of all sizes to put forward special events to be part of this year's festival. All activity must take place within the city centre, however we encourage individuals and groups from across Merseyside to get involved.

You might trial a new initiative, launch your summer season, try a late night preview, or stage an event to show off what you're doing and reach new audiences.

All submissions need to respond to the theme for 2016 which is Experiment.
Please read this brief outline of how to submit events.

You can then submit your event information using the online form.

The deadline for submissions is 24 February 2016.

Artistic commissions

Open Culture is seeking artistic proposals from emerging artists for the 2016 programme.

We are looking for emerging or established artists living or working in the UK. Proposals in any artform are welcome including visual arts, sculpture, technology, moving image, spoken word, performance, installation, light art or any combination of these.

We are looking for artistic projects that are thought-provoking and engaging to the senses exploring the 2016 theme which is Experiment.

These commissions will present opportunities for artists to create work which is:

- presented as part of a major festival that reaches a large and varied audience
- made in collaboration with a new organisation or venue
- challenging but accessible for new audiences

Get in touch and weâ€™ll see what we can do to help you create interesting collaborations. We encourage groups from around Merseyside to be part of LightNight by working with a city centre venue for the festival.
