Charlie Hunnam Reaches God Status by Defending His Longtime Girlfriend Against Nasty Fans

Charlie Hunnam, star of Sons of Anarchy, the actor who dodged that Fifty Shades bullet, and a man with an ass to end all asses, has come to the defense of his longtime girlfriend Morgana McNelis against mean-girl fans who attack her for her looks, her existence — and, ultimately, the fact that Charlie makes sweet, sweet love to her and not them. 

"I would respectfully ask you to stop doing this," Charlie said in a statement released through a friend named Tina Lou. His plea has since been taken down — ironically because Tina was getting bullied for it — but you can read it in full here and watch a video of Charlie confirming that the words were his. (He's wearing a pageboy cap in the video. You can hear his accent.)

"[Morgana] is an intelligent, beautiful, kind person who just tried to live a simple life and has nothing to do with the entertainment industry," his statement continues. "If you want to talk shit, talk shit about me, leave her out of it. What is most confusing is that these negative and totally unprovoked attacks appear to be coming from the people who call themselves my fans. Think about the logic of this for a moment. This is a girl I love very much and have spent the last 11 years of my life with and hope to spend the next 60 years. She has been my loyal and supportive partner long before I had any success or money. Why would you attack her out of admiration for me? It makes no sense." 

This is like that episode of Sons of Anarchy, "The Pull," when Tara's stalker-ex Kohn is in the middle of saying "once a biker slut, always a biker slut" — only Kohn doesn't get to finish that sentence because Jax shuts him up real good. You do not speak ill of Jax's one true love or you shall feel his wrath. What I'm trying to say is, I don't understand the difference between real life and television — but, also, if Charlie's statement isn't the most romantic thing a celebrity has said about his girlfriend ever, then I don't know what is. This man is a god. And that Morgana McNelis is one lucky bit—
