Serious assault police, Strathpine

Police have charged a man following an incident which occurred in Strathpine last night.

Around 8.40pm, police were called to the carpark of a shopping centre on Gympie Road at Strathpine.

While arresting the man for public nuisance, it will be alleged he struggled violently with a female police officer.

It will further be alleged as she arrested the man, he spat on her.

A 22-year-old Brisbane City man has been charged with serious assault, public nuisance and obstruct police.

He will appear in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court today.
