Taco Bell Introduces ‘Cap’n Crunch Delights’ in Bakersfield

Taco Bell is testing out at locations in Bakersfield, California, a new breakfast item that the corporation is considering including on the menus at all locations if it goes over well, called Cap’n Crunch Delights. This news comes out just a mere day after Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) announced the introduction of edible coffee cups, though they will, initially, only be available in the U.K.

Though the name of the proposed new Taco Bell menu item sounds, well, “delightful,” it remains to be seen if the item will be a big hit at the Bakersfield locations. Perhaps it depends on how “delightful” the idea of consuming Cap’n Crunch Crunch Berries that have been formed into balls, with white milk frosting in the middle of them, then sprinkled with cereal crumbs and deep fried, sounds to the residents of Bakersfield.

There has so far been no word announced by Taco Bell how long the trial testing period will last or if the item will also be offered throughout the day. The donut-hole-shaped “pastries,” as the Cap’n Crunch Delights are being called by Taco Bell, are going to be sold in packs of 2, 4, and 12. The prices for the deep-fried delightfully gooey packs will be $1 for the smallest size, $1.69 for four of them, and $4.49 for the size presumably meant for an entire family, 12.

One reason why people enjoy going to Taco Bell is that the corporation always seems to be adding a new item to its menus. Some of the past items that have been introduced are Gorditas, Cinnabon Delights, the triple steak stack, and quesaritos. The new menu items that Taco Bell has introduced have had varied degrees of success, but the company is definitely not afraid to tinker with their menu items and develop what it hopes will be new taste sensations that will appeal to the taste buds of Americans.

Will Taco Bell’s latest proposed addition to the company’s breakfast menu, Cap’n Crunch Delights, be “mouth watering,” or will the pastries be, instead, stomach-churning? The deep fried donut-hole shaped “delights” are certainly not a menu item that people who have diabetes ought to try, but they might well appeal to the “inner child” in all of us. They have been compared to the Cinnabon Delights that Taco Bell currently offers, as both items are being called “pastries” and both are filled with milk frosting.

Just how good the new Taco Bell breakfast item, Cap’n Crunch Delights, now being tested out in Bakersfield, California, locations taste will ultimately determine how well the item sells and if it will be soon sold nationwide. While some people have been curious as to exactly how many calories each of the deep fried sugary “delights” will amount to, that is perhaps a question that people who become fans of the new breakfast item might prefer not to know about. It is, however, doubtful that Taco Bell will try to claim that Cap’n Crunch Delights are something that will appeal to anyone who is health-conscious. Can a number be put on happiness?
