Keg + Growler = Fresh Beer Anywhere

It's a growler! It's a keg! It's both?! Double Dukes! Making its rounds on Kickstarter and absolutely crushing its goal, the uKeg is a revolutionary way to keep your beer fresh, carbonated, and ice-cold anywhere you go. GrowlerWerks, a company based in the beer-chugging city of Portland, has designed the uKeg for the sole purpose of keeping good beer tasting good.

So how does it work? Excellent question. A regulator cap screws into the top and keeps oxygen out, while a CO2 cartridge, along with a selector dial, lets you control the beer's carbonation level. Push the tap and put a glass underneath—or your mouth, if you're tough enough.

There's even a sight glass and pressure gauge so you can see how much beer you have left and the amount of pressure that's being applied.

The double-walled, vacuum-insulated stainless steel body makes the uKeg just as disaster-proof as it is portable. It keeps your beer cold all day and you can bring it anywhere. Like to the beach, or tailgating, or to this very scenic river in the picture above.

One CO2 cartridge will keep your uKeg growler fresh for up to four weeks, which gives you ample time to take this puppy to as many potlucks and picnics as possible. Because, you know what kind of person shows up to a picnic with a keg? The best kind.
