The 2015 baseball season hasn't even started and the Hamline baseball team already has taken its first curveball. The Pipers were scheduled to travel to Marion, Illinois for five games against UW-Stout and UW-Superior last weekend. Unfortunately, Mother Nature stepped in and dropped seveal inches of snow on the area, forcing all games to be re-arranged.
Thus, pitchers like
Aaron Stoneberg (pictured) had to wait a few more days before they can play ball.
That day has arrived.
With a weather forcast of a high near 60 degrees, Hamline will now open the season on Tuesday, March 10 with a doubleheader against UW-Stout at Veterans Field at Minnetonka High School. The two seven-inning games will start at 1:00 p.m. The next day, HU will face UW-Superior in a pair of seven-inning games at Minnetonka. Those games will also start at 1:00 p.m.

HU heads to Jax, Illinois this weekend. They will play MacMurray and Loras twice each in nine-inning affairs on Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15. Third year head coach
Jim Weyandt and the Pipers then head to Tucson, Arizona for six games on March 19-20-21. The MIAC season is scheduled to open at Gustavs Adolphus on Saturday, March 28.
