Kwabenya Community Benefits from 2nd Edition of Kalyppo Kares Project


Kalyppo Kwabena (3)The second edition of the Kalyppo Kares project took place at the Kwabenya MA Basic Schools after a successful event at Madina last week.

By 9am, children as had began massing up at the venue, to receive free health screening and education from the dedicated health personnel from Sangy Nursing Services.

Children between the ages of 6 and 14 were tested for blood sugar level, oral and personal hygiene as well as body weight check and other vital bodily checks to assess their health.

Mr. Adolphus Briandt, Assemblyman for the area expressed his excitement about the event and called for it to be held twice each year to help children and families in the area. He noted that, the community had several health needs Kalyppo Kwabena (4)however, had urgent need of public health facilities to enable residents access quality and affordable healthcare.

The over 250 children gathered were treated to fun activities such as face painting, musical chairs, , bouncy castles and dance competitions that put smiles on the faces of all presents.

Children who participated in the various activities were awarded souvenirs and assorted prizes.

The dance and rap competitions drew lot of attention with some of the children exhibit their prowess in the art.

Kalyppo Kwabena (5)According to Project Officer, Mr. Chris Nana Ampadu, the company deemed it

necessary to ensure that children, who make up majority of their customer-base, are in good health and possess mental strength.

KalyppoKares4Kids is an initiative by Aquafresh, producers of packaged food products & non-alcoholic beverages, which includes Frutelli and Kalyppo.

An estimated number of 1,000 children are expected to benefit from the program, which will be held at Jamestown on 29th August and on 5th September in Tema.
