If you’re ready to refresh your look in the New Year, you’re not alone. Some of our favorite beauty bloggers are hitting the reset button, too. Need some inspiration? Here are the top trends they can’t wait to try.

JEANNINE MORRIS, JeannineMorris

Trend: Sexy Dark Lips
“I’m excited the spring runways proved that dark, vampy lips will still be on trend. The look is a nice contrast to the idea of lightness and renewal that the season brings. I love it because it’s elegant with an edge.”

Trend: Perfectly Imperfect Hair
“From messy knots to lived-in styles, 2016 is going to be the lazy girl’s dream. I’m okay with saying goodbye to blow-outs for a while. My hair and wallet can use a break.”

KRISTIN BOOKER, Fashion.Style.Beauty

Trend: Celebrating Your Natural Glow
“I think I might be the only beauty person who went backstage during Fashion Week and was excited to see glowing skin as a runway trend. The trend of wearing layers and layers of foundation, contouring, powders, and whatnot have created such a bizarre, artificial construct of what beauty is supposed to be about. I love the idea of celebrating healthy skin and a glow that comes from within, not from more products.”

Trend: Punk Rock Hair
"One runway trend I loved is the return of a range of haircuts. Long, tousled waves and sausage curls are giving way to some rocker-approved looks: fringe bangs, shaggy layers, asymmetrical bobs, shaved sides—I love celebrating individuality. Last season it was a range of colors, and now we're embracing texture and more daring styles. I'm going for choppy layers and not looking back!"

MELANIE YVETTE, Beautifully Brown

Trend: Totally Out-There Brows
"I really look forward to trying the trend of different colored eyebrows. I know that sounds extreme, but I think when they’re done well, like a metallic gold brow, it can be fun and just something different for a girls’ night out."

ANDREA ARTERBERY, The ART of BERY

Trend: Short Hair, Don’t Care
“I loved seeing all of the cropped hairstyles on the Spring/Summer 2016 runways, so I think I'm going to skip the idea of growing out my own short strands and just add some bangs.”

Trend: Playful Eye Shadow Looks
“I'm excited to dive back into color! Instead of the traditional black/gray smoky eye shadow that I usually wear, I plan on swiping on those blues and pinks in my eye shadow palettes that never get used.”

LARA EURDOLIAN, Pretty Connected

Trend: Saying Goodbye to Shine
“I’m excited for the evolution of the bold, high impact matte lip trend. We’re seeing so many new colors and textures from the conventional matte to liquid, velvet, cream, and demi-matte options.”

BRYCE GRUBER, The Luxury Spot

Trend: Shimmery Skin
“You know what’s really exciting? The death of contouring. I love that fresh, natural faces are making a big comeback with a touch of glowy highlighter or shimmer. No more sculpting war paint—phew—my pores were getting clogged, and I was starting to forget where my real cheekbones actually live.”

ALY WALANSKY, A Little Alytude

Trend: A Childhood Hairstyle Favorite, Upgraded
"Reimagined—and adult!—pigtails were on the Miu Miu runway, and I’m all about embracing them this coming season. The look is not only great with my hair extensions, but it can totally help stretch that phase where you don’t have to wash your hair yet (but you kind of do). Plus, who doesn’t love to marry adorable and sexy in whatever way possible?"

AMBER KATZ, Rouge 18

Trend: Fake Freckles
“I’m into the faux freckle thing. I have a couple freckles on my nose that disappear come Labor Day, so I’m using a pencil to fake them. I love this trend because you can just dot them on top of makeup and you look less like you have a face full of foundation on. It’s gorgeously misleading.”

Trend: Chic Navy Nails
“For 2016, I’m excited to get into the dark blue sparkly nail polish trend. Deep nail hues have been popular for awhile, but we’re seeing them come back in that late ‘90s glittery navy moment. It’s nostalgic, and I’m here for it.”

ALYSSA HERTZIG, The Sparkly Life

Trend: Beauty Bars 2.0
“I’m already a huge, huge fan of the beauty bar trend, which has really exploded over the past few years. I already love blow-out bars (DryBar! DreamDry!), makeup bars (Blushington! Rouge!), hair extension bars (RPZL!), and skin-care bars (Heydey!). In 2016, expect the trend to continue to grow—and I’ll be right there trying every new place that I can. Two that are particularly on my radar: Skin Laundry—the amazing laser-facial bar—will continue to expand across the country. I’m also really intrigued by Base Color Bar (a salon in Los Angeles offering only base hair color), so I’m really hoping they come to NYC soon.”

Trend: Sophisticated Sparkly Nails
“The nails at Naeem Khan’s Spring 2016 show were ethereal and beautiful, and I can’t wait to recreate them. Manicurist Julie Kandalec glammed up pale pink polish with a sprinkling of silver glitter at the nail beds. They were pretty much as understated as glitter nails can be but still felt pretty and special.”

Trend: Mermaid Eyes
“Blue eye makeup was huge on the spring runways, and the looks ranged from weird and scary to seriously gorgeous. I haven’t worn blue eye shadow since middle school, but I’m so ready to dabble in it again after seeing the models on the DVF runway. I loved the smudge-y, shimmery, blue-green mermaid-y thing they had going on. Totally trying it!”
