Birmingham bombed – in a good way – with yarn

“Who’s there?”

Birmingham is in stitches, thanks to Birmingham Public Arts Board.

The board organized the annual “yarn bombing” event which involves placing knitted or crocheted objects onto trees, parking meter posts, light posts, bicycle racks and benches.

“The volunteers worked very hard and we’re excited to unveil some clever yarn designs to the community,” Public Arts Board member and project leader Linda Wells said.

Project volunteers, divided into teams, came up with unique design themes. Creative themes include: Eat Yo’ Veggies, Jurassic Parking, Ninja Turtle, Rapunzel, Touché Pussycat, Streamers, Sunset on Lake Michigan and many more.

Weather permitting, the project will stay up through October.
