It’s been 25 years since we first felt the earth shake and now it’s going to happen yet again!

A Tremors television series reboot is in the works and Kevin Bacon is set to return to the series and produce.

Both Blumhouse Productions and Universal Cable Productions are joining forces in developing the series based on the 1990s cult classic about giant killer worms.

They are both shopping the series around to various networks and according to Entertainment Weekly, there are multiple bidders interested.

Although not a huge hit when initially released, the series has gained cult status over the years and has spawned four direct-to-video sequels and a short lived television show Tremors: The Series that aired on the then Sci-Fi Channel.

Kevin Bacon has expressed interest in returning to the character Val McKee over the years and in an interview with British newspaper Metro, Bacon confirmed that sentiment, “I’d love to do something else with Tremors and revisit the character 25 years later.”
