Stuffed Green Peppers
Ingredients:
4 large green peppers
1 lb. of Roseda Ground Beef
1/3 cup of chopped onions
1 7.5 oz. can of tomato sauce
1 cup of cheddar cheese to sprinkle on top
1 cup of minute rice
1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon of dried oregano
1/2 cup of Velveeta cheese
Directions:
1. Halve the peppers lengthwise, removing stem ends, seeds, and membranes.
2. Immerse peppers into boiling water for 3 minutes. sprinkle insides with salt.
3. Invert on paper towels to drain well.
4. In a skillet cook meat and onions until meat is brown and onions are tender. Drain fat.
5. Stir in tomato sauce, uncooked rice, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, 1/2 cup of water, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
6. Bring to a boil.
7. Stir in Velveeta cheese. Cover and simmer for 15-18 mins or till rice is tender.
8. Fill peppers with meat mixture. Sprinkle the top with cheddar cheese.
9. Place in a 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Bake at 375 in oven for 15 minutes, or until heated through.
