Fat Boy is ending the season early because of a lack of staff

BRUNSWICK (WGME) -- A summertime staple is closing up a month early because they don't have enough staff.

Fat Boy Drive-In in Brunswick will shut down for the season this weekend.

In business since 1955, it is one of the few remaining carhop restaurants in the country.

The restaurant generally ends its’ season in October but this year, the owners say they don't have enough employees to keep up and that has long time customers disappointed.

“It's kind of neat you turn on your headlights and you don't have to get out of your car,” says Amry Grangas.

Don't worry you have still got the weekend to get your Whopperburger, onion rings and all your other Fat Boy favorites.

They close on Sunday.
