‘Be still my beating heart!’ Mothers can’t contain their excitement as it’s announced that action star Chris Evans will become the next heartthrob to read a CBeebies bedtime story

CBeebies has attracted a rather mature audience of late having enlisted actor Tom Hardy to read their bedtime story on several occasions.
And now mothers across the nation have been left hot under the collar once again as the early year's channel has announced that actor Chris Evans will be next to do the honours.
CBeebies announced that the Avengers star, 35, will send little ones off to sleep on the 10th of May when he will read Even Superheroes Have Bad Days by Shelly Becker and Eda Kaban.

In a tweet on the Twitter account CBeebies Grown-Ups they wrote: 'Coming soon to a living room near you!'
While the news is sure to be welcomed by CBeebies' target audience it was the parents who failed to contain their excitement.
Many took to Twitter to express their gratitude for yet another Hollywood heartthrob appearing on the show.
While children are sure to be pleased to hear that the superhero actor will be sending them to sleep it was their parents that couldn't contain their excitement
Many mothers and fathers had already scheduled in time to watch the show with some admitting that they may even record it.

Others couldn't thank the show's producers enough with one user even suggesting they belonged on the honours list.

And while mothers were sharing their gushing tweets of gratitude Chris himself said that he was just excited to take part.
In a statement he said: 'I'm honoured to be the next guest on Cbeebies bedtime stories which is such a special show.
'I hope families have as much fun watching as I had reading!'

Chris' appearance follows on from Tom Hardy who has read on the bedtime segment three times much to many parents' delight.
The Peaky Blinders star read a story on Mother's Day this year as well as Valentine's Day and before that in December 2016.
Past celebrities include Damian Lewis, Isla Fischer Nadiya Hussain and David Hasselhoff.
Chris will appear on CBeebies on Wednesday May 10 at 6:50pm.
