Kozhikode, February 2 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday afternoon delivered an address at the Third Global Ayurveda Festival here on Tuesday.  He will also inaugurate the ESIC Medical College and Hospital building in Coimbatore, which he would hand over to the Tamil Nadu Government.

“Today Ayurveda is known globally due to its holistic approach towards health. This Govt is committed to the promotion of Ayurveda. We have a Ayurveda ministry,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said.

“The real potential of Ayurveda is still untapped, Ayurveda can be the solution to many health problems” Modi added.

The Global Ayurveda Festival is an international Ayurvedic biennial event started to serve as a force to galvanise the Ayurvedic sector to aspire, plan and achieve greater heights. Practitioners and students, manufacturers, hospitals, government and non-government agencies working in the sector will partner in this mega event, the largest biennial get-together of the Ayurveda fraternity in the state to be held for the first time in Kozhikode. (ALSO READ: PM Narendra Modi to address Global Ayurveda Festival today).

The GAF-2016 is organised by the Centre for Innovation in Science and Social Action (CISSA) in association with the Government of Kerala, native Ayurveda fraternity and the department of AYUSH, Government of India. Modi who arrived in Kozhikode today, will also deliver an address at the third global ayurveda festival.

Prime Minister Modi has not been to Puducherry since he assumed office, however, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah was in the former French colony last year in August.
