Happy Thanksgiving to all our dear readers and supporters! At our lovely, intimate Pot Luck Dinner we initiated a new tradition and created a Gratitude Board. The challenge for each of us was to avoid repeating any of the items already written on the list. Kasey, our new admin and resident artist did the lettering for the title. Then in between courses and while engaging in deep discourse about healing, aging, evolution, world peace, favorite movies & movie stars, and even a tad of religion and politics, each of us added our items. We approached the board with a sense of reverence and hmm, yes, also a sense of gratitude for the opportunity to express our gratitude.
Every year I learn more about the importance of and the constant vigilance needed to maintain a mind filled with grateful thoughts, a heart filled with grateful feelings and an attitude of gratitude.
My favorite chiropractor,
Dr. William McEvoy, reminds us that it is now scientifically proven that gratitude improves physical health...
"G
rateful people have fewer aches and pains.
Gratitude improves psychological health by
reducing emotions like envy, resentment, frustration, and regret. Gratitude increases happiness and reduces depression.
Grateful people have been shown to be
less likely to retaliate against others, even when given negative feedback. They experience more sensitivity and empathy toward other people and a decreased desire to seek revenge.
Grateful people sleep better, have better
self-esteem, and
have less
stress.
Thank you all for contributing to this body of collective wisdom.
Speaking of scientific bodies of evidence for things unseen- please be sure to join us on Thursday Dec. 3rd at 6:30 for a fascinating new presentation on Regulation Thermometry (RT), brought to you by Whitney Christina, TCHE member and 3 Barnard Lane tenant.
Regulation Thermometry (RT) is a new type of whole-body healthcare screening. Unlike traditional image-camera thermography, RT measures the physiological function of organs, glands, lymph, brain and teeth, and delivers the results in a seven page individualized patient report that includes text, images and graphs all within minutes.
