One line from July 9’s “Sunday Notebook” struck me: “A Warren-Diehl race would be a battle of populists from opposite ends of the political spectrum.” As a former Massachusetts resident, I am compelled to point out that Senator Warren is the quintessential definition of an elitist. The former Ivy League professor trots around the country selling books that advocate top-down governmental regulation of every aspect of our lives. There’s nothing “populist” or grassroots about Senator Warren.
Geoff Diehl, in contrast, is a small businessman who understands, like President Trump, that we can only protect American jobs if we renegotiate fairer trade deals and build a wall to secure our nation’s borders.
I am confident that Representative Diehl has a superior understanding of the pulse of the real people of Massachusetts.
