Lights Done Bright 2015

Well….we did the best we could with what we have. To say that I’m sorely disappointed a crate full of Christmas decorations is at the bottom of the sea would be an understatement. I had big dreams to WOW this community this year. I know it’s not quite like I had hoped – but the staff said the community is wowed just the same.

Pierre said that there’s no place in Haiti where you can find this sort of beauty. Either the people can’t afford it or they know if they put it up – it will be stolen. Last year the mayor thanked us on the radio for bringing light into this community – specifically lighting up the corner by the cemetery where folks are afraid to pass by at night.

We did bring back into Haiti with us several tubs of lights. So much so – that it’s beginning to overheat the generator. While we were out we packed a few christmas displays in our crates. We decided even if our crates arrive just before Christmas –  we will still decorate and keep things up until the end of January! 🙂

It’s hard to capture the beauty of the campus on a camera phone – but you can take my word for it – it’s lights done right! 🙂
