Dramatic dashcam footage shows the moment a car causes a rollover crash on busy highway

  • Driver of the cruiser suffered minor injuries  

Dramatic dashcam footage has emerged of the moment a car caused a rollover crash on a busy highway in Utah.

The crash occurred on the on I-15 in Salt Lake City Friday morning.

The footage shows a Toyota Tacoma making contact with the PT Cruiser, causing the truck to turn over.  

It appears a third vehicle attempted to change lanes without room to do so, setting off a chain of events that led to the crash, Fox 13 reported.

The Toyota tries to swerve to miss the truck but ends up smashing into it, causing the truck to roll

The Utah Highway Patrol said the crash occurred around 7:40 a.m. near 600 North on southbound I-15. 

The driver of the truck was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the PT Cruiser was not injured.

Video of the crash was uploaded to Facebook by driver Scott Rodgers. 

Police told Fox that, according to witness reports, a black vehicle had attempted an improper lane change, causing the truck to quickly move.

Officials are still trying to find the black car and its driver.
