Saving California’s Dragons: The Blunt-Nosed Leopard Lizard

Join us tonight for our free Cafe Sci program! The gates open at 6 PM, food and and drink will be available for purchase and the playground will be open. At 7 PM, Dr. Rory Telemeco will be speaking about Blunt-nosed Leopard Lizard conservation efforts. We just found out he’s planning on bringing a few of the lizard’s neighbors for us to meet!

Talking to Legislators About Climate Science

Please join us Monday, May 2nd at Fresno Discovery Center for a discussion of climate science and politicians.

We often host scientists and STEM professionals who do first hand research, but next week we’ll hear from 4 members of Citizens’ Climate Lobby, Fresno. They will discuss how they communicate that research to our government representatives; people we need to understand science in order to make informed decisions for us, our state, and our nation.

WHAT: Café Scientifique is a fun, public program that’s supported by Fresno Discovery Center locally and running in over 30 countries around the world. Café Sci programs bring subject matter experts face-to-face with the public. Each program highlights a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) professional who gives a short presentation, then the real discussion begins. It is fun and educational but also provides transparency & accountability in science.
