Good Honest Marketing - Not, but for a great reason.

Great honest marketing I thought

"For Sale 24' Boat - leaky, unable to float, refurbished, poor electrics, Yammer Diesel engine refuses to start and needs an overall. White Hull, LOA 23'8" LOD 19'10 Beam 7'6" and Draft 1'8" Will need to be collected on low-loader as trailer has a broken axle and a missing wheel. £19,500 07xxx xxxxxx”

I saw this advert four times, and somehow kept getting drawn to it, so I don’t know, maybe intrigue made me phone about it.

Got to speak to a lovely chap, and he explained his wife was out so he could tell me, his wife wants rid of his boat and she checks his credit card statements so after three months of no classified ad payment showing up on it, he just put the advert in, knowing no-one would reply, apparently I was about the 80th person to answer it since it went on line about three weeks ago, and in print early last week.

His boat is perfect, his dream boat, and he does not to sell it, but this way his wife will know he tried. He then went on to say when he sold his previous boat, with a proper serious ad, he had to advertise it for seven months and only got three responses, the irony.

I just hope he keeps it, enjoys it.
