Dead & Company — three quarters of the core Grateful Dead members plus John Mayer — is hitting the road in about a month and they’re getting ready.
Dead & Company Announce Fall, Winter Tour Dates
Mayer posted a video to Instagram Tuesday night teasing a 15-second clip of the Dead’s “Tennessee Jed,” where he’s clearly enjoying himself ripping on his new PRS custom guitar.
He also wrote that rehearsals have now begun for the shows, adding, “This is some magical stuff we have going. Can’t wait to take it on the road.”

Dead & Company features Dead members guitarist Bob Weir and drummers Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann, as well as Oteil Burbridge of the Allman Brothers and Aquarium Rescue Unit on bass and Ratdog keyboardist Jeff Chimenti, who played all five Fare Thee Well shows alongside Bruce Hornsby.
