Emily Blunt and John Krasinski’s $8M Brooklyn townhouse is a dream

John Krasinksi and Emily Blunt’s stunning Park Slope townhouse hit the market this afternoon for $8 million. Somehow, the townhouse at 586 4th Street is even more swoon-worthy than it was when the actor couple picked up the property in October 2016 for $6 million.

According to the listing, with Corcoran’s Karen Talbott and Kyle Talbott, the 1909 townhouse recently underwent a “significant renovation” by Michael Ingui of Baxt Ingui Architects that preserved the home’s original details like stained glass windows and built-in leaded glass cabinets while also bringing it into the 21st century with modern updates like a marble fireplace surround, radiant heated floors, and custom motorized shades.

The 5,200-square-foot limestone-clad townhouse has seven bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and one half bathroom in total. On the parlor floor, a formal sitting room at the front of the house has a bay window, a pier mirror, and floors with mahogany in-lay borders. The room leads to the center parlor with a wood-burning fireplace flanked by an updated black marble surround. Built-in shelving, leaded glass windows, and ornate but unfussy moldings lend the room a homey feel.

The kitchen’s been updated with a six-burner Wolf range, a Rohl porcelain sink, and a graciously sized island that’s overlooked by a skylight. A sliding glass door lets onto the townhouse’s rear patio paved in blue stone.

The second floor is devoted to the master suite, where the master bathroom entrance is surrounded by stained glass. The colors of the glass are picked up in the bathroom’s brass fixtures and white marble countertop and shower seat. A den on this floor could be used as another bedroom.

Four additional bedrooms are on the townhouse’s third floor. The townhouse’s ground floor includes yet another bedroom, as well as a den and entrance onto the patio.

Krasinski told the Wall Street Journal that the couple is selling because they just don’t spend enough time in the glorious townhouse. “We’ve been nomads for a while now, but that’s the nature of the business,” Krasinski said. “The house is so special—someone who can spend every night there should have it.”
