Nashville artist EZA has released her latest single, “Headlights,” available exclusively on this year’s Nashville Indie Spotlight album.

Now followers of my blog would know, I love a lot of genres except country, no matter how hard I’ve tried to like it, I just don’t and for me when I hear Nashville, I’m worried because I link Nashville to country but I clicked EZA’s Soundcloud link anyway and I was not disappointed. It’s far from country as it’s more electronic-pop which I LOVE.

(Please note, I don’t have anything against country music, it’s just not my cup of tea)

Back in July EZA released her debut, Means Of Escape, a four-song EP including three original tracks and a cover of Nina Simone’s “Plain Gold Ring.” (I’ve listened to this and it is amazing!)

Interesting bit of information here, EZA experiences a neurological phenomenon known as synesthesia, which causes her to visualize different colors, waves, and patterns when listening to music.  Her synesthesia is what helps create the moody, vibrant and magnetic sounds heard on “Headlights” and throughout Means Of Escape.
