Update, 8/6: 2016 marks the 20th anniversary—yes 20th—of the Spice Girls' debut song "Wannabe." Rumors have been swirling around about another possible reunion for the iconic '90s girl group and last night, Mel B seemed to confirm the idea. "Hopefully, we'll gather the troops around, and we'll get to do something to celebrate it next year. It's in my plan, I don't know about anybody else's," she revealed to Jimmy Fallon while on The Tonight Show last night. Original Post, 3/25: Emma Bunton has said that scheduling is the only roadblock in the way of a Spice Girls reunion for their 20th anniversary.

The Spice Girls will celebrate two full decades since the release of their breakthrough hit 'Wannabe' in 2016, with fans already speculating about celebration plans.

Bunton made headlines last year for suggesting that no reunion was "in the pipeline" at the time, but appeared more optimistic this week.

"I was with Geri and Mel B just recently, we love each other and we love performing together," the Daily Star quoted her as saying.

"It's just when the timing is right because we all have our own careers now and we have families, it's just about getting five schedules together and that's all it is."

Bunton also addressed the likelihood of never-before-released Spice Girls tracks being made officially available, given that several demos leaked online months ago.

"I have heard about that, yes, but I can't really talk about those," she hinted.

The singer did reveal that Spice Girls recorded "lots" of songs that the public have never heard.

Bunton's optimism about a Spice Girls reunion echoes comments made by bandmate Mel B last year, who has hinted at the likelihood of a celebration of some kind in 2016.

The Spice Girls last performed together publicly at the 2012 Summer Olympics closing ceremony in London. They also gathered together again for the launch of their musical Viva Forever that December.
