Fatal traffic crash, Lawn Hill (near Doomadgee)

Police are investigating after a single vehicle traffic crash claimed a man’s life and injured four women at Lawn Hill near Doomadgee this afternoon.

Initial investigations indicate the vehicle the five were travelling in has left Bella Road after 2.30pm and crashed.

The man, 45 from Doomadgee, died at the scene.

Four women, a 63-year-old and a 58-year-old both from Wellesley Islands, a 57-year-old from Normanton and a 41-year-old from Doomadgee were all injured, one seriously, and have been taken to hospital.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
