James Corden stopped by CBS‘s Late Late Show tonight to kick the tires. It went well.
“Are you ready for this?” Ferguson asked Corden.
“I think so,” Corden responded hesitantly.
“I’m delighted you’re taking over, and I’m very very sorry for what’s about to happen,” Ferguson said, adding, “You sure you want to do it?”
“I think it’s too late, Craig — but you’re looking good,” Corden observed hopefully.
“That’s because I’m leaving!” Ferguson joshed. “You’ll be fine. People are so kind — especially on the internet.”
“I’ve had some experience with that already,” Corden said. “You have some passionate fans.”
“Leave him alone! He’s lovely — and, smells like biscuits,” Ferguson said, addressing the camera.
“But that’s mostly because I’m 90% biscuits,” Corden added, ruefully.
Ferguson today is taping the last two episodes of his Late Late Show. Jay Leno is his last scheduled guest on his final show which airs Friday.
