German age grouper Lasse Ibert is not only fast, he is also very smart when it comes to bike details and fitting. He went sub-9 this year with a 4:32:46 bike split at the Datev Challenge Roth aboard this customized and very sweet looking Quintana Roo PRsix.
Lasse Ibert is 1.78 meters tall and weighs 72kg (compared to the fat 86kg author) and he rides this 52cm QR PRsix in a very cool Dodge red paint and a Zipp 808 Firecrest wheel up front and a Lightweight Autobahn Disc in the rear.
Ibert custom mounted the XLab Aero TT bottle super low and only uses the lower bolt and double sided tape. The tires front and back are Continental Competition Pro Limited ALX 25mm Latex.
The Rotor 3D24 cranks are 175mm and feature a Power2Max Type S with Rotor Q-Rings 55/42.
For maximum aerodynamic effect Ibert mounted a TriRig Omega X brake in the front.
As you are looking at the custom panted Shimano Pro Missile Evo bars with Lizardskins DSP tape, you will notice how low his base bars sit.
From the front this Quintana Roo PRsix bike is more than clean and aero.
Up close with the custom stem Ibert fabricated. It allows him to be lower than the stock version and it also is easier to work on.
The Shimano Di2 junction box has a magnet mounted underneath so it snaps easy and secure into the place.
Ibert tried to mount a TriRig brake in the back too, but could not make it work. So he mounted a Shimano Dura-Ace direct mount one instead.
Tye extra tape on the Torhans BTA bottle keeps the straw in place versus being pushed back and out of reach by the wind.
The Garmin 520 computer is mounted to this Pro Evo Missile bars with a custom bridge. Notice also the 3M anti slip tape.
The saddle on this bike is a Dash Stage narrow.
The mount on the seattube with the bottle and the cartridge is a Canyon Speedmax / Arundel Mandible, and Ibert simply ordered it and made it work.
The KMC X11 SL DLC red and black chain is very distinctive but Iber also customized the cassette into a 11-31 by blending CS-9000 and CS-M9000 cogs.
Ibert added Lizardskins tape to the Look Keo Blade pedals.
The measurement digits on the bottle are clearly also not original.
Some friends have teased Lasse Ibert that he is not slender enough and he has thus the nickname Wurst.
Lasse Ibert in action during the 2016 Datev Challenge Roth and a personal PR. According to his Garmin file he rode 177.8km and ran 41.6km.
