Alex Noble, born and raised in the city of Cardiff in Wales, UK, probably has the absolute coolest job in the world. He is a professional zombie, and before you ask, he makes quite a lot of money pretending to be an undead being with a hearty appetite for human brains.

What's even wackier is that, until not very long ago, Alex Noble had a job in finance. No, he didn't get fired and decide to become a zombie in a desperate attempt to make some pocket money. This guy knowingly and willingly gave up his career in finance to become a professional zombie.

His friends and his former boss assumes he was a wee insane

Alex Noble, now 26, explains that, before going the extra mile and become a full-time zombie, he spent about 5 years making appearances as an undead being in all sorts of films and even in games. During this entire time, he was paid absolutely zilch.

The 26-year-old's life turned topsy-turvy when he was approached by a company whose working agenda boils down to organizing and running a zombie chase game dubbed 2.8 Hours Later. The company, named Slingshot, offered to hire him as a professional zombie.

Much to the surprise of his friend and his former boss, Alex Noble decided to take the folks at Slingshot up on their offer. Long story short, the young man quit his job in finance and started pretending to be a fierce zombie for a living.

“When I told my friends, they thought I was giving up a stable career on a whim,” the 26-year-old said in a recent interview. “A lot of people will be happy doing their job for 20 years, but opportunity only knocks once,” he added, as cited by Oddity Central.

The man did right when becoming a full-time zombie

Presently, Alex Noble not only makes a nice living playing the undead but also gets to train zombie volunteers chosen to take part in the chase game 2.8 Hours Later. Thus, he tells them how to act to be convincing while at the same time keep themselves and other folks safe.

“Health and safety is paramount. I always try to identify the alpha males because they can get too competitive. The best zombies might not be the fastest, they are the ones that make the character really real,” the 26-year-old detailed his work at Slingshot.

As part of this year's 2.8 Hours Later chase game, players will have to try to break into a quarantined slum and rescue the few children left unaffected by a global zombie infection. While trying to save these kids, the over 2,000 people expected to take part in the game will be chased around by Alex Noble and his fellow zombies.

Just in case some of you are thinking about signing up for this year's chase game, you should know that the 2015 2.8 Hours Later tour will begin in the town of Cardiff in March. The game will then move on to Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield and Bristol.
