Remove The Cuffs

Remove The Cuffs

Is making money difficult? Many will answer “yes” to this question. What if making money is much easier than you think. What if it isn’t making money that’s difficult? What if it’s the way you think about money that has you handcuffed to the idea that making lots of it is difficult? Why do some of us become millionaires but most of us don’t? Are the wealthy special, smarter, or more intelligent than everyone else? Or do they just see differently?

To answer the question, wealthy people see very differently when it comes to life in general. What most see as great risk, the wealthy view as great opportunity. What most see as impossible, the wealthy see as a challenge. When most people condition themselves to see money as something that’s not so important, the wealthy see the freedom in possessing lots of it. When most people put a limit on their earning potential, the wealthy choose to see limitless possibilities.

The real question is what are you willing to do to discover your fortune? Most people are complaining about their situation while standing in line for seconds, and I’m sure they will be willing to return for thirds. My NFL career taught me a lot about making money. I learned that you get out of life what you demand from it. You take the risk because you see that the opportunity is much greater. You can’t be afraid to meet defeat. If you can’t see the pool of endless opportunities around you, you’re defeated already.

People often ask me if speaking in front of hundreds of people is difficult to do? Or they will ask how difficult was it to average a double-double as a 6’6 power forward when I played NCAA basketball? Or they will ask me how difficult was it to become an NFL athlete after only playing twelve plays of college football? I always tell them that the hardest thing I ever had to do was to convince myself to purchase a one way bus ticket and the rest was easy. If you’re willing to take the cuffs off, you too will discover how easy it is to find your fortune. My journey started with a one way ticket and now I too see very differently.

Corey, this is a nice piece. Removing these cuffs in our own head can be one of the biggest obstacles in people's pursuit of success. If you don't believe that your own capabilities are enough, neither will anyone else.
