De Beers Marine Namibia, part of diamond mining and exploration firm De Beers Group, has confirm its contract today with Norwegian ship builder Kleven on the building of a highly specialized vessel for deep water mineral exploration.
The contract was initially announced in October 2014.
The first-of-its-kind vessel will be of MT 6022 design from Marin Teknikk and will feature a wide range of tailor-made equipment to support its unique operations. Delivery is planned for June 2016.
